The Fabric Lady
My involvement with home furnishing fabrics and curtains began some years ago when we moved house and found ourselves with bare windows! We couldn’t afford to pay someone else to make our curtains, upholster our chairs or wallpaper our walls so I taught myself and transformed our house into a home.
I soon started working for a Surrey-based home furnishing fabric shop and in the process learnt the trade from the bottom up. We now supply online fabrics, wallpapers and linings at competitive prices and can offer a wealth of advice when needed.
We really hope we can be of assistance and look forward to hearing from you.

Inspirational Tips
Highlight walls. Use bold wallpaper or a contrast paint colour on just one main wall of a room – the fireplace wall in the lounge for instance or behind the bed in a bedroom. |
Tall headboards. Order the tallest headboard that you can get in your house for a really sumptuous look. |
Bed dashes. A bed dash is a contrast or matching wide band of fabric which can be either quilted or just interlined and is placed for show across the base of the bed. |
Crystal and Perspex. Curtain poles have moved on from wrought iron or wood. Look out for brushed steel with crystal or glass finials with built-in lighting. You can even get clear Perspex poles – though be careful not to have too heavy curtains on them! |
